Seeing A Lot of Black Things In Your Vision & Flashes of Light?

Mr C (M/55) came in to ask for photocopy service as he urgently needed to submit his insurance claim. We said our printer can print out only or we suggested we can help scan with phone and have it printed out.

As we scanned with phone, we saw the details “Left Retina Detachment” and the following page with “Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment”. Retina is back part of our eye that help us to see. Retina detachment is whereby retina has been detached, you will see a lot of floaters (like black strings/“worms” flying in your vision and you lose your vision. We asked Mr C more about it, he said it happened last year when he first reported seeing a lot of floaters and he couldn’t see half of his vision. He didn’t immediately go to seek treatment at that time. We could see that his cornea, front part of his eye has turned opaque/not transparent anymore at the centre.

If any event of doubts to your eyes, please reach out to any eye care practitioners around you and ask about it. If it is an emergency case like Retina Detachment, we will be able to pick up and advise you to immediately go and seek treatment at once. Mr C is an architect, and this visual impairment will be there with him. He is reported to have “No perception of light”.. cannot perceive light on his left eye.

We want to spread awareness on eye health, if you have any doubts, just drop by and ask us. We have a duty to refer if condition is found to be requiring specialised care and treatment to prevent worsening of the condition. Please reach out and ask, this our one and only pair of eyes that helps us to become a better person each day.
