Mr Lim (M/62) came for eye examination, complaining of blurry far & near vision with existing multifocal spec of 2years and lenses have many scratches.
Examination showed:
R: +3.25/-0.75×60 (6/6-)
L: +3.00/-0.50×130 (6/21)
Addition: +2.50 (N6@40cm)
(Addition = Reading power/Rabun membaca/“Lao hua”)
Mr Lim’s longsighted power has increased 050 to 075 with slight increase of astigmatism power and increment of 025 in Addition power. As we age, longsighted power and Addition power will increase as our natural lens inside our eyes loses elasticity to exert enough power in order for us to see clearly, hence the gradual power increment over the years, so this is normal. And light passing through scratches will be blocked and reflected causing blurry vision and glaring issue. He has mild cataract in both eyes, good vision is attained in right eye and vision is poorer on left eye due to lazy eye/amblyopia developed during childhood.
Mr Lim has chosen a bigger trendy frame of renowned Champion ultem plastic material for great flexibility and durability, with plastic sides preferred in order to withstand sweat.. different from his existing small frame size. Having his new multifocal lenses of Deutsch Entwurf Frei Linse in wider more comfortable design for his active lifestyle.
