Kak Komathy (F/56) came for eye examination, vision with existing glasses is still okay for far & near.
Examination showed:
R: +1.75 (6/6)
L: +1.75 (6/6)
Addition: +2.25 (N5@40cm)
There is an increase of longsighted power of 050 in both eyes. Longsighted power increment is due to our natural lens inside our eye losing elasticity to exert plus power in order for us to see clearly at far & near. Therefore, our reading power increases gradually with age, so does longsighted power. With new power, kak Komathy can see far & near clear and comfortably. Being able to see far to near simultaneously clear is something lost that cannot be regained anymore, so multifocal lens complements our lives wonderfully, in enabling us to see the world like how we used to see when we were young, to continue enriching our souls in relation to people around us, be it the ups and the downs, all these give us emotional pleasure.
Kak Komathy also shared about her mother who was reluctant to have an hearing aid previously. She was unable to hear, unable to connect with family members around her. Finally, she agreed to have an hearing aid and it’s all good now❤️
All these important senses – sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch.. to give us meaningful connection, that’s all matter.
