Difficulty Driving At Night?

  • Post author:

Kasturi (F/26) came for eye examination complaining scratches on lenses causing blurry far vision and also difficulty driving at night.

Vision with own glasses of 2+years:
R: -1.00/-3.50×5 (6/9+)
L: -1.25/-4.00×175 (6/6)
Very high astigmatism prompted us to ask whether or not she rubs her eyes always, but she does not really rub her eyes.

Examination showed:
R: -1.00/-4.00×10 (6/6)
L: -1.25/-4.00×175 (6/6)

Kasturi has very high astigmatism in both eyes, and there is slight increment of astigmatism in her right eye. She can achieve optimum vision with full corrective power. With very high degree of astigmatism, it prompts us to check for keratoconus. Keratoconus is an eye condition whereby cornea (front part of our eye) bulges out forming like a cone shape. This conical shape of keratoconus cornea will give us scissoring reflex that we can pick up during eye examination, but we did not see this scissoring reflex in both her eyes. We have made Kasturi aware of Keratoconus or alternatively can visit an ophthalmologist for an eye examination.

Kasturi has an eye on this new hexagonal shape of Supreme fitted with Kodak City Lens filtering glare & scattering light giving soothing, comfortable vision in a more reassuring driving especially at night.

Thank you Kasturi for your trust & support!?
