Madam Goh (F/63) came to make a new pair of glasses. She is wearing very high plus power as her glasses are thick and her eyes look bigger. She had retinal detachment more than 10 years ago & has had her natural lens removed on her right eye with no lens implantation while her left eye is non-seeing eye & her eye/cornea(front part of eye) has become opaque.
Her current spectacle power:
R: +12.00/-0.50×90 (6/120 blurry)
L: +10.00/-0.50×80 (balance power)
She uses a magnifier to see her hp to call family & friends and to see time.
New power:
R: +13.50/-0.50×90 (6/120 blurry but better)
L: +9.00 (balance power)
She will use the new large screen magnifier with light to help her with seeing her phone.
Her existing pair is slightly thick and heavy. We prescribed her the thinnest & lightest lens material 1.74 and we are very happy that she is happy with it – the lens thickness is just slightly seen on the right lens while the left lens is entirely covered within the rim of spectacle frame. Realising that she tends to put her spectacle lenses facing down on table, that may pick up scratches easily, we have guided her to let the lenses facing up whenever she rests her glasses on table. But when she puts her glasses in the spectacle casing, to let it facing down on the spectacle cloth.
For super high power like Madam Goh, alternatively, you may opt for glass material for greater vision clarity but due to safety reason, we prescribed her plastic material.
Although Madam Goh would need her niece to assist in her mobility.. but she remains in high spirit. Lovely to see her so energetic & still talking with great ohmm despite all challenges, she embraces them and still smiles adorably. Nothing is as valuable as family love, being part of a family gem, caring after each other❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Madam Goh & Leng for your trust & support!????
