Mr Lean (M/78) came to make a pair of multifocal glasses. He just previously made separate pairs of glasses, one pair is for distance vision and another pair is used for near vision.
Examination showed:
R: PL/-1.50X100 (6/12+)
L: PL/-2.00X90 (6/12+)
Addition: +3.50 (N8@40cm)
Mr Lean’s power has increased quite a bit of astigmatism in his left eye. He previously came back the next day after spectacles collection to complain that he felt discomfort in his left eye. We troubleshot his power and lens, and all are fine. We have advised that he may need another day or two to allow his eyes to get used to the increment of astigmatism power, in which he reported the glasses are fine afterwards.
Mr Lean had cataract surgery for both eyes about 10 years ago. We all heard about people saying that their cataract has come back even after cataract surgery. It is not true that cataract will come back.. vision becomes blurry after cataract surgery that may be due to some dust/dirt stuck on the lens that is in need of polishing from eye doctor/ophthalmologist. When you feel your vision becomes blurry, you may visit us, and we will check the condition of your lens.. if dust were found on the lens, we will have a referral letter for you to bring over to see eye doctor. He does have slight dust on the lens, but considering 10 years post cataract surgery, it is very good outcome.
Mr Lean is using Kodak City Lens for his distance pair and clear multicoated lens for his reading glasses. He simply loves the soothing vision he sees.. wearing his distance glasses. Now, he wants the same soothing lens in multifocal lenses.. to have a single pair of glasses to see clearly for his driving, computer/newspaper and his hp conveniently. We have prescribed Kodak Atlas UVBlue with Night Vision to give the same soothing effect that he wants in Kodak City Lens.
To have the multifocal lenses fitted in Korean style frame of Blossom stainless steel frame giving an “in” grandfather style. Age is just a number though❤️
Thank you Mr Lean for your trust & support!?
