Harleen’s shortsighted power/myopia has increased 150 in a year. She has found it especially difficult to see whiteboard/blackboard since she went back to school after MCO. The period of online learning during MCO has pushed all children fixing their attention on digital screens most of the time in a day. Without regular break in between near task, our eyes work extra hard to auto focus in sustaining seeing upclose. This has put a certain amount of stress to our eyes in which leads to increment of short-sighted power.
Our approach is to prescribe short-sighted power that is just enough to see far satisfactorily without giving over power. As our lifestyle has very much moved indoors facing digital devices, a satisfactorily lower distance power would mean that you will feel more comfortable at near task with that power. As opposed to slightly higher shortsighted power which will in return give you tiring eyes doing near work.
We would want to have power increment of less than 075 in a year. In order to control myopia progression, we will embark on the journey of myopia control.. it is throughout their learning, at least up until they finish their studies. Myopia control is a co-management from all parties including the child, parents, eye care practitioner as well as eye doctor/ophthalmologist, all for the ultimate goal of bringing myopia progression under controlled the best we can.. through regular follow-ups every 6 months.
Harleen has chosen Korean style frame of Vis in the smallest size as she has very small face, pairing with blue filter lenses.
Thank you Mr Malinder & wifey and Harleen for your trust & support!?
