Non-Seeing Eye Has Turned Opaque?

  • Post author:

Mr Chiew who previously made multifocal glasses with us, has history of retinal detachment in left eye few years ago. This eye is turning whitish, opaque over time. He meets clients & draws for them. Clients would casually ask for his eye, and sometimes it may cause a bit of awkwardness, hence the option of prosthetic iris contact lens.

Mr Chiew has not tried any contact lenses before. The awareness of putting contact lens was so strong in which we did not make it the first few times. Initially, we tried with soft cosmetic lens but to no avail. As we tried more, he was more accustomed to it, things got better. And finally, we managed to insert the iris lens. We had some trial fits to choose the colour that matches his good eye.

Mr Chiew even wanted to have the trial lens as he needs to wait for a few weeks to get this customised iris lens.
