Ms Cheong (F/48) came for eye examination, complaining blurry near vision with existing glasses.
Vision with own glasses of Single Vision:
R: -3.50/-0.50×90 (6/6)
L: +0.50/-0.50×55 (6/7.5)
Examination showed:
R: -3.50/-0.50×90 (6/6)
L: +0.75/-0.75×55 (6/6)
Add: +2.00 (N5@40cm)
Ms Cheong has antimetropia in which her right eye is shortsighted in minus power and left eye is longsighted in plus power. With old power, she can see the smallest line on testing chart clear & comfortable with both eyes, so we will let the power remain. Sometimes, we do not push to achieve 6/6 line in each eye, so long as you can see the smallest line 6/6 comfortably clear with both eyes, then it is good enough.
Ms Cheong also has anisometropia, a condition in which eye power difference of 200 between both eyes. The new power stretches the power difference even more to 425 between both eyes, in which she found it uncomfortable with the power. Having adapted to her previous power.. is actually a very good result already, considering the very big power difference. Kids normally can still adapt for such big power difference, so, children who are detected early with big power difference can retain seeing optimum vision 6/6. Whereas for adult who only found out having big power difference between both eyes.. usually won’t be able to tolerate such power that will result in having lazy eye.
As a stay-at-home mum, Ms Cheong juggles between the many chores, fetching her children to and from school as well as classes, so she has opted for colour changing Transitions lenses to automatically change to dark colour upon exposure to sun/UV and to fade back to clear when she goes indoors, in multifocal lenses of Kodak Atlas giving simultaneously clear vision from far to near. Fitted to a stainless steel frame of Blossom in an invigorating Korean style, to be different from her previous plastic rectangle frame.
Happy to hear that you are wearing the glasses now, enabling you to see far to near simultaneously clear?
Thank you Ms Cheong & hubby for your trust & support!?
