Kingsley (M/20) came for eye examination, vision with current glasses of 1year is fine.
Examination showed:
R: +0.25/-3.00×5 (6/6)
L: +1.25/-4.00×170 (6/6)
Kingsley’s new power is the same as his existing spectacles. He has significant astigmatism power of 300 & 400 in right & left eye respectively. When asked the age he started wearing glasses, he said at a very young age at about 5 or 6 years old. With such high astigmatism power, if power were not corrected early, the risk of having lazy/amblyopia is very high. Having his power well corrected since young, his vision is optimum attaining 6/6 vision in both his eyes despite such high astigmatic power. If the child has lazy eye, he/she will not be able to see the smallest line of testing chart, we term as 6/6 vision.. even after full power correction.
Therefore, annual/yearly eye examination is very important for all children as well as adult & elderly. Awareness is the key.. let’s spread the awareness of having annual eye examination to all your friends & family in this season of togetherness✨✨✨
