Multifocal Glasses in Special Eyeshape?

  • Post author:

Irene came for eye examination, complaining blurry near vision with current multifocal glasses of 2+years.

Vision with existing glasses:
R: PL (6/7.5-)
L: PL (6/7.5-)
Add: +1.25
(PL means no power)

Examination showed:
R: +0.50/-0.75×180 (6/6)
L: +0.50/-0.25×180 (6/6)
Add: +1.50 (N5@40cm)

Irene has mild longsighted power in + sign. This is the power that can exerted by our natural lens inside our eyes. When we are younger, we find that we can still far fine without glasses. As we age, we may start to have longsighted power as our natural lens is less flexible to exert the needed + power.

Our eyes are very clever, they will want the + power, if given to them.. so that they do not need to work hard to exert the necessary + power in order to see clearly. The same thing applies to our reading power, also in + power.. thus we have increase of reading power gradually as we age.

Irene loves the special eyeshape in thin rim of Issey Miyake to pair with Hoya multifocal Summit Dynamic in Blue Control.

Happy to hear that you are wearing your glasses already, Irene?

Thank you Irene for your trust & support!?
