Vedang (M/11) came for eye examination, existing glasses were broken. He first started wearing glasses at about 6 years old.
Eye prescription gotten from his father, Mr Hans:
R: +2.50@90
L: +2.50@90
Examination showed:
R: +2.50/-2.50×180 (6/6)
L: +2.00/-2.50×180 (6/6)
Vedang has longsighted power 250 & 200 as well as astigmatism power of 250 in right & left eye respectively. New power is almost the same as the prescription given by his father. He sees optimum 6/6 vision despite such significant longsighted & astigmatism powers.. as he has worn his glasses since young. This is the key… give the power your eyes need to see clearly at earliest age possible, good optimum vision develops naturally.
By bringing your child to your nearby eye care practitioner, will you be able to know the status of your child’s vision, whether or not there is an underlying uncorrected power. The earlier it is that your child has his/her power fully corrected, good optimum 6/6 vision will definitely follow, if eye health is all optimum.
Likewise, if such significant power were only detected at later age, few years into primary school, the child will likely to have developed lazy eye/amblyopia.. whereby even after full power correction, he/she will still be unable to see optimum 6/6 line. The higher the uncorrected power, the poorer the vision will be.
Annual eye examination is crucial for all children. Let’s make a difference in children eye care. It starts from you and me.
Vedang has wanted an all black, plastic flexible frame of Flexi suited for school & everyday use. To pair with Advance Single Vision in Drivewear 420 for glaring-cut vision.
Happy to hear that the glasses are “good”, Mr Hans?
Thank you Vedang & Mr Hans for your trust & support!?
